To this end, we provide complimentary resources, advocacy campaigns, and local personal support to build scalable financial wellness initiatives throughout Wyoming.

Strengthening Wyoming with Sustainable Economic Empowerment Programming

The mission of the Wyoming Financial Educators Council℠ is to build sustainable, scalable economic empowerment programs that have a real impact on people’s lives at the community level. To accomplishing this mission, we focus on these 3 Pillars:

Pillar 1: Increase Access & Develop Sustainable Financial Education Programming.

Organizations – We provide resources, training, personnel, and support to build scalable financial wellness programming.

Individuals & Families – Resources and courses are provided for those seeking to improve their own finances and/or teach their kids about money.

Pillar 2: Raise Awareness for Economic Empowerment through Financial Education.

Advocacy Promotion Campaigns – We promote the adoption of financial literacy into schools, getting families involved in teaching kids about money, and encouraging individuals to improve their knowledge.

Local Financial Education Data – Conducting and curating Wyoming-specific personal finance research to share with stakeholders across the education and media sectors.

Wyoming Financial Literacy

Nicknamed the Equality State, Wyoming now strives to increase overall financial capabilities among its citizens and communities as part of a Wyoming financial literacy movement. This movement, headed by the Wyoming Financial Educators Council℠, seeks to raise Wyoming financial literacy by distributing resources and information related to personal finance management among individuals and organizations. This Wyoming financial literacy drive is one segment of a more comprehensive campaign being carried out across the nation.

The widely-spaced population of Wyoming yields just 374 total schools across the state (compared to the U.S. average of 1,972); Wyoming has 94,067 total students (986,521 average) and 7,614 teachers (61,418 average). These data, archived in the Common Core of Data at the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics, also indicate a positive student/teacher ratio in Wyoming, 12.35 compared to the 16.06 U.S. average.

No steps had been taken to enact policy related to financial literacy instruction in Wyoming as of 2015, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

About the Wyoming Financial Educators Council℠

The Wyoming Financial Educators Council℠ joins the National Financial Educators Council® (NFEC®) in a sweeping, nationwide initiative aimed at building successful community financial literacy campaigns. Founded in 2017, the Wyoming Financial Educators Council℠ works hand-in-hand with the NFEC® to reach their shared goals for financial education.
